Bank of Montreal
BMO Wealth Management and BMO One View priority is to help users achieve their financial goals both now and in the future. They also leverage advice from thought leaders on various life events that can impact your wealth.
THE PROBLEM
How do we bring our users into One View Banking so they can see and manage their finances and future goals across our products and services?
I have spent several years working with various financial technology companies, and they all are trying to find a holistic way for their customers to seamlessly go from product, to feature, to offerings and services. This can be very difficult, unless all departments co-operate and work towards one organization goal.

User Account (Example)
Presenting the ability for the user to get a quick glance at their investments from across the board and giving them the ability to take action on what they find most important to them, at that present moment in time.
Things do change, and the user needs the ability to adjust in real-time.
BREAKING DOWN THE PROCESS
Involving others in the creation process is great way to get feedback and new insights.
Worked with other experienced senior team members from different departments to also include their knowledge and point-of-views, even though they were not directly on the team.

LESSONS LEARNED
Considering that money is one of the most important factors of life, not many people actually understand it.
Users need to "nudged" and presented with options that influence their decision towards a positive outcome.
Having knowledge of the financial markets is a huge plus.
Knowing the difference between good debt, bad debt, investments vs. liabilities is very important. Not to mention there must be comfort in dealing with complicated data, not just a cash balance.
Working with all levels of product professionals in the key.
Researchers, Data Analysts, UX Designers, Visual Designers, Content Writers/Designer, Product Leads, Project Sponsors, etc, all play a part when trying to construct a well rounded 'public' solution.
Team work and collaboration is key!
